App Review: 1min AI - your AI multi-tool

One site to rule them all...

1min AI is a versatile AI platform, catering to a broad range of creative and professional needs. Although initially positioned as a cost-effective alternative to ChatGPT it has since grown to bring together many of the leading AI tools out there, making it serve as a central hub for diverse AI-powered services, including text generation, image processing, and video and audio editing, The main benefit comes from access to multiple leading AI models such as GPT-4, Claude, Llama, Gemini, Meta, Midjourney and new models such as DeepSeek, all of which can be tailored as workspaces for writers, artists, marketers, content creators and so on.

The platform operates on a credit-based system which will probably be the main source of confusion for many users, 1min AI provides monthly credits, with options to earn additional credits through daily activities, which look generous until you perform some tasks, and which is probably its main source of criticism. Despite some limitations, such as the absence of a mobile app or Chrome extension, and concerns about credit consumption and long-term viability, 1min AI's user-friendly interface and extensive toolset make it a good choice for anyone looking to try multiple AI models.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s.

Once you have an account, you can organise various AI models into workspaces.

How does it work?

1min AI is an all-in-one platform that provides various AI tools and models through a credit-based system. Users access the platform via a web browser, as there is no mobile app or Chrome extension available. Once logged in, users can perform tasks such as text generation, image processing, video and audio editing, and document analysis which are generally accessed in one of two main ways: either by selecting the specific process, listed in a left side-bar menu as AI for writing, image, audio, video and such like, or by using workspaces aimed at specific types of work, such as marketing, content creation, or small businesses.

The latter route can be a particularly useful for those new to AI who are not exactly sure what they need. By bringing together the main models in a particular category you will have access to a series of related tools. For example, if you need to use AI to create, edit or optimise images, selecting the Artist Studio will bring up headings for actions such as image generator (as expected) but also background replacer, image upscaler, face swapper, object remover and many more, each with a brief description of capabilities. Selecting one of these will in turn load the various applicable tools, such as a drag and drop box to remove objects from images, or various models such as DALLE 3, Midjourney, Leonardo, Stable Diffusion and Flux. This is both the strength - but also the potential flaw - of 1min AI's approach.

As has already been noted, a real virtue of the platform is that it employs multiple AI models, whether GPT-4, Claude, Llama, Gemini, Midjourney, DeepSeek and many, many more, allowing users to select the most suitable model for their needs. That said, while there are brief descriptions for models and tools, to be most effective you must either already have some knowledge of their operations and capabilities, or be willing to experiment: and there lies the potential rub.

Actions within the platform require credits, which are allocated monthly based on the subscription plan. For example, the Free option provides 450,000 credits per month, while Pro and Business options provied 1 million and 2 million credits per month. Users can earn additional credits through daily visits, reviews, and referrals, with unused credits rolling over to the next month, and there is always the option to buy more credits as required. A million credits for the Pro option (which I use) sounds incredibly generous, but this is where my main criticism of the app comes to the fore, in that such numbers have much more to do with marketing than transparent usage: when using AI with systems such as Adobe or Microsoft, the smaller numbers of credits gives you a clear idea of how many times you can use a feature before you need to pay more, but the indicative figures provided by 1min AI are much more opaque. Creating a 5 second video clip, for example, can use between 100,000 and 750,000 credits, which tends to discourage experimentation.

I am fully aware that this is a criticism which undermines the need for such a site to remain solvent if it is to stand any chance of surviving, in particular if, like me, you can take advantage of regular lifetime deals that provides a substantial amount of AI effectively for free. It remains the case, however, that if you want to do any extensive work, particularly with video or audio, you'll need to top up on a regular basis, although all credits roll over which means you can save for specific, credit-hungry projects.

Is it effective?

The simple answer is: yes. As well as the studio approaches and a range of AI models that remains unparelleled for the moment, 1min AI also features a Multi Chat option, which enables yoiu to query multiple AI models simultaneously for different perspectives. There are a few here, especially Grok and Claude, which I am very glad to use on an occasional basis when I need an alternative to ChatGPT, Gemini or DeepSeek running locally, although I have found that I rely on alternatives such as local installations of Flux and Stable Diffusion for image generation.

Despite some limitations, such as the absence of a mobile app and concerns about credit consumption, the platform's user-friendly interface and extensive toolset make it a valuable resource for creative and professional tasks. I use it fairly regularly, but the opaque pricing structure has curbed my enthusiasm several times and makes me less likely to experiment with different models when I realise an hour's - or, worse, a few minutes - messing around can consume my pot of credits. As such, this is recommended more for relatively experienced users who may wish to use a particular tool on an irregular basis.
